ABC Workshop
The Issues
Managers who understand which products, services and
customers are truly profitable have a competitive
advantage. However, traditional cost management
techniques rely on allocations that can misstate product
and service costs significantly, sometimes by a factor
of 25% or more!
Activity Based Costing (ABC) is a common sense approach
that provides managers with reliable product and
customer profitability information, and an understanding
of how business processes drive those results.
Workshop Outline
This intensive one-day workshop is packed with case
studies, role-plays and practical interactive exercises
to ensure you learn how you can use these common sense
concepts to drive better results.
The workshop highlights problems associated with
traditional cost management techniques, why ABC
generates better product and service costs, and how you
can use ABC to drive better performance. In particular,
you will learn how to:
-
define & analyse business processes
-
cost activities
-
identify cost drivers
-
develop product, service & customer
profitability analysis
-
discover ways to increase value added, quality
and service levels, yet reduce costs!
-
integrate ABC with process improvement and
Balanced Scorecard concepts to facilitate better strategic planning and
operations management
-
develop an ABC system on your own PC
A special feature of this workshop is that you
learn through building you an ABC model on your own notebook PC. We will install
proDacapo, the World's leading ABC system, on your PC during workshop
registration. In the workshop you will create your own case study ABC model and
use it to analyse product and customer profitability. After the workshop, you
will be able to use the system to analyse your own organisation’s performance
back in your office.
